As you have not mentioned the details of the exam for which you are asking query, I am assuming your query will be answered in the general manner.
As you have mentioned that allotment of seat is provided as S1-P1, S2-P1 or P2. According to the understanding, it can be clearly seen that S And P might be the rows and columns. And the numbers associated with it like 1/2 etc. are the seat numbers.
