You haven't mentioned which application form. It is fine when you dress up simple and decent. No need to get fancy or bit off. Just be normal and just focus on the work you are prepared for.
As far as you look simple , there won't be any problem. Do as they say and if the check you then allow them to check. Prior to that check what are the rules. There are some rules on the dress code. Some styles may not be allowed. So just stay cautious for that.
