I would say mechatronics would be better as there are very few Mechanical Engineers that understand Electronics and there are very less Electrical Engineers who understand mechanics. Someone who can do both and then design controls for electric-mechanical devices can basically command their own salary.

It's all about your personal choice & interest. Also, which field of mechanical engineering you are good at. If you would like to consider the job prospects, then You can go for Mechanic Design and Materials, Thermal Engineering and fluid mechanics.
