Think of her appearance, which she never gave a thought to, she was preety but poor, poverty does not see appearance. Unlike fairy tales where there is happy ending, here, the girl dies an untimely death. Focus on her conditions nad then her dreams, the Industrial era and her fear from her father.....you will definitely be able to get an answer.
