In TNEA 2019, for admission purpose as well as seat allocation both ranks general as well as community rank will be taken into account. If you have a good general rank then you can get admission on the basis of that only but if in case your general rank is bad , then your community rank can be used to give you a better seat.

There are reservations for every community and some of seats are unreserved. So if you have community rank than you are eligible for seats of that community as well as unreserved seat. Your community rank will be used for counselling and if you don't get seat on this rank than your general rank will be used for same.
