Indian Institute of Packaging Mumbai, also known as IIP Mumbai, was established in 1966 by the packaging and allied industries and the Union Ministry of Commerce, with an objective of improving the packaging standards in the country. The institute indulges in teaching, research, consultancy, training, testing and certifications.
The Indian Institute of Packaging offers a two-year full-time Postgraduate Diploma in Packaging (PGDP) programme and a three-month Certificate Course in Packaging (ITC). Also, the institute offers an 18-month Diploma programme under Distance Education Programme in Packaging (DEP).
The admission process at IIP Mumbai varies from course to course. While admission to diploma and certificate is based on merit, admission to post graduation diploma course is based on a Written Ability Test conducted by IIP Mumbai followed by a Personal Interview (PI) round. The written test is generally conducted at Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai and Hyderabad.
