Although you have not mentioned but i suppose its about NIFT. Yes, for OBC category you are supposed to upload the caste certificate at the time of application form filling itself. Also you are supposed to furnish the certificate at the time of seat allocation. refer to following link for more details

Hi Namrata,
Yes you would be required to upload your caste certificate at the time of submission, especially when it is mentioned, for all the categories. Upload all the required documents, check your details once more before finally submission.

Since you have not specified about which exam you want to know I can't be fully sure about it.
Most of the times in various entrance exams scanned document of Caste Certificate is mandatory.
