Is clat exam useful to do a 3 year degree program after btech or shall I write lawcet exams of different states to get a seat?
Greetings,
As of now, most of the National law Universities (NLUs) that are sought after through CLAT, do not offer 3 year LL.B courses. They offer only 5 year courses and LL.M.
Some of the best colleges for 3 year LL.B would be:
- DU, faculty of Law - DU LLB exam
- Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law, IIT, Kharagpur - direct application, interview and CV based
- Symbiosis Pune - SLAT exam
- GLC Mumbai - MH-CET exam
- BHU, Banaras - BHU LLB exam
I'd say you should try for GLC Mumbai and DU LLB, the exams are not that tough and colleges are at par with good NLUs in terms of academics opportunities and faculty.
Go for IIT Kharagpur or SLS Pune - if you want the corporate exposure, the student culture, the abroad possibilities.
Go for BHU if you want to practice law or appear for judicial services exams - probably one of the best, highly qualified faculty of law in India, only downside is that corporate exposure is almost non-existent.
good luck!
