No, there are never major changes in gate syllabus. There can be some minor changes like pattern, marking scheme etc., but not something major.

The syllabus of GATE compiles all that a candidate learns in the B.Tech course. The syllabus of GATE mostly remains same with a slight excluding or including of topics which is also not that common.
The subjects and major syllabus always remains the same and will remain the same in future as well until and unless a major change occurs in Indian engineering education system.
