Yes , GK is important for your management exam specially when you are aiming at craking XAT or IIFT. The typical XAT paper contains 25 GK questions out 100 and IIFT paper containing 18 questions out 114 questions. Although CAT do not have GK section it would be very helpful for your GDs and PIs. So do not neglect GK entirely but prepare according the exam. All the best.

GK is not included in the CAT, It has 3 sections- Verbal, Quant and DILR.

On the other hand, other important management exams like SNAP, Tissnet, XAT, IIFT have a different section comprising of GK.
