Yes of course Many of them have scored good marks in pi and now they are studying the best courses in best Colleges.

Yes you can.
Both branches have almost similar syllabus.
But to be honest mechanical has really high competition as compared to production.
It would be easy for you to score better rank in production than mechanical.
Also PSUs have vacancies for production branch too.
