Is it advisable to attempt GATE for the third time , as the first time in GATE 2017 i got 41 marks and then at GATE 2018 i got 71.89 marks?

You have scored good marks.You will easily get top colleges or PSUs.So,according to me you shouldn't have to appear for the third time.
