mechainical branch is always good but depends on in which institution are you pursuing.if you choose private college then possibility of job is 30% in core branch and if you looking career in public sector job then not depends on institution.
and mechainical branch is some tough branch than other,there is no better branch than mechainical.

Mechanical is one of the best branches in engineering stream but the main thing that you should take into consideration is your interest. If you love what you do, then any engineering branch is fine. All the best!
