Its totally depends on you because giving a whole year is not easy. You need to be mentally ready for this. You need to decide by yourself do I have the potential to crack IIT & if you are ready, then you should drop but if you have any slight confusion regarding this you better not. You need to decide that are you ready to study every single for the next 365 days for your dream college if yes then you should & if you have any confusion don't go for it.
Make a wise decision. Still have any doubt let me know.

Obviously it's best for you take drop.
But it's also depand on your financial issues and family condition.
