If you have scored well below 85 marks in MHTCET and well below 60% amd you also havent appeared for JEE Main, only then you can opt for drop.
Sijce a year gap can be detrimental to your career.
You should score above 150 marks at least if you opt for drop so you can get all top end colleges.
