    It all depends on how well you do in CAT. If you are confident to do exceedingly well, then you can surely afford a one year gap. You can also consider the option of doing some certifications simultaneously with your preparation of CAT.

    It depends how capable you are right now...investing one year in cat is good deal but not effective you can try work aside
