Is MAT exam is preferable for direct admissions or else we should apply separately for the college admission
Greetings Poornanchandra!
Hope you're doing great.
Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a standardised test being administered since 1988 to facilitate Business Schools (B-Schools) to screen candidates for admission to MBA and allied programmes. There is an ample number of institutes which provides direct admission on the basis of MAT scores. Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Bangalore and ITM Business School, Navi Mumbai are the best institute which takes into account of MAT score to take admission into their prestigious PGDM/MBA program.
However, you will have to apply directly to each and every b-school separately. As there is no centralize seat allocation mechanism for MAT aspirants. You have to pay the application fee amount and submit the required documents that will be asked for the admission process. There are many private colleges which conduct their own exams such as SNAP for Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, IIFT entrance exam for Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, SRCC GBO to admission into Global Business Management Diploma course in SRCC and many more. So, MAT is not like these private institute admission test and considered for direct admission in any institute.
Hope, this will solve your queries. Do reach out in the comment section if you need any help. Also, if you want a list of the colleges where you can apply through MAT then I'll provide you with that as well.
All the best!
Cheers!
