Hello Dundradurga,
In India for mining courses such as BTech, girls are thrughly not allowed to fill up the counselling forms or any such forms. This is due to the field works and the severe work conditions.
But there are a few alternatives.
So the possible options for them to work in core are
- Get a Masters/Doctors degree and do research/teaching. Read about Dr.Chandrani - the first woman PhD in Mining. She’s into research at CSIR - CIMFR.
- Few multinational companies like Rio Tinto, Vale, BHP Billinton etc do hire women but they stopped recruiting from Indian Institute of Technologies (ISM, KGP, BHU) , in fact they never hired women from India. You can try after pursuing Masters in abroad or the other way around.
