MCI (Medical Council of India) has barred Shankaracharya Institute of Medical Sciences along with two other medical colleges in Chhattisgarh for admissions for the 2018-19 session. It has been found out on assessment that the college lack faculties, equipment and does not meet the standards set by MCI. The college tried to rent faculties for an earlier inspection by MCI. Barred colleges may still receive approval before the admission period begins. No admissions will be made for these colleges until then.
