See this is entirely dependent on the exam you want to take examination through. In most cases, colleges offers admission only on best of 5 marks. But there are also some colleges which takes the best of 4 marks for their admission. For example, Presidency University Calcutta offers admission after an entrance with 70% marks criteria in best of four.
So its entirely exam dependent as well as college dependent.
