Hello.
Yes there is BA Economics
St Xaviers Mumbai is renowned college all over India. It is specially designed to pursue BA (bachelor of arts) degree. Of course St Xaviers have excellent faculty no doubt.
Now to answer your question cut off for economics in St Xaviers college is above 90% so it's very tough to get admission in Xaviers. You have to study very hard to be your mathematics should be literally very strong. As Economics is very deep subject, it is not about studying typical books but it requires lot of external studies as well as regular and continuous reading of newspapers such as The Hindu, Economic Times etc. Further it also requires reading books realated to Marxist economy theory which is very deeply rooted. So I would also like to inform you that St Xaviers is amazing college to pursue BA degree. Placements are really good. Economics department will completely transform your thinking with respect to finance and other economical markets. There are 40 seats available for Masters course if you are thinking of it so you literally have to work hard to grab your degree. So on my part I suggest you to do economics in St Xaviers itself.
Hope this is helpful.
Good luck.
