Mock allotment gives you the first results of the first round of counselling considering the options and the order and order of preference of the options saved at that last time of students who have registered till then.

In simple words:Mock allotment gives you the results of the first round of counselling considering the options and the order of preference of the optionslast saved at that timebyall studentswho have registered till then.
It means that if that was the last day for locking the choices, the results of first round of counselling would have been like that.
This gives you a fair idea about what you will be getting in the actual first round and also helps you correct the mistakes in the options filled and their order(order of filling the choices holds a prime importance).
A lot of students ask the reason for the difference between the results of 1st and 2nd round of mock allotment.
It is due to the following reasons :
Not all the students had registered for counselling till the first round. Many students may have changed their minds and edited their options to add or remove some of them.Students realised that the order of preference that they had saved is not correct. Thus they rearrange the order to get a better option.
In this round, you do not have to do anything except to ensure that your choices are best filled according to your interests and edit them accordingly. This round helps in obliterating the errors in filling which may have crept either due to the lack of information or by human error.
Also please note that it gives only a rough idea of the results of acutal 1st round, so the actual allotment result may vary with the edits done by the students before the last date of locking.
Furthermore, the reason for it being called mock allotment is now obvious; it is not the real round, just a trial one.
I hope it helped :)
Thank You.

The mock allocation is just a trial run to get an idea as to what branch and college you are likely to get based on your current preferences. The mock allocation list isnotanactualallotment list and is highlyunreliable. This is because, aspirants can change their choices in the application form after referring to the mock allocation list. It is very likely that most students will want to change their preferences. Hence, too many changes in the inputs will lead to obvious changes in the actual Round 1 allocation list.
Moreover, the mock allocation list is based on aspirants' preferences as recorded at 5 pm on June 26. Changes made in preferences after that time are not considered in the mock list. However, when releasing the actual Round 1 allotment list, all preferences recording as on June 29, 12 noon, will be considered.
Thus, those aspirants whose names have not appeared on the mock list, still stand a chance to get placed on the actual list to be released on June 30. At the same time, aspirants who have got their choice of college and branch on the mock list should not be too excited as there are high chances of this allotment changing.

One is allowed to fill in his/her choices by 28th June and mock seat allotment is scheduled on 27th June which means that on 27th Josaa the seat allotment authority will display the mock seats allotted to the candidates
Hence the candidates get the rough idea of the seat they are being allotted, and they have the chance of changing their mind after the mock seat allotment results because once you lock your choices youcannotalter your choices.
