Ragging is a crime now. Its not legal to do to any child. Even you cant do ragging once you be a senior. So, no ragging is completely prohibited. Still, no institute can guarantee it because what is done by someone (student) in person , is not been noticed by law until you put a report against it. So, legally its banned but in person you need to raise your voice if something happens.

Sardar Vallabh bhai patel university of agriculture and technology, meerut is a reputed college, approved by UGC and is strict on its rules of anti ragging. There is no ragging followed in the college and seniors are cooperative to Juniors, and if it happens you can call at helpline number available at the link
