After the AIEEE, which was an entrance test for admission to B.Tech programmes in various engineering institutions, was phased out in 2013, the JEE-Main was launched in 2013. After JEE-Main was launched in 2013, various changes in the format of the test were made, most recently in the 2020 paper pattern of JEE-Main, when total JEE-Main marks were lowered to 300 from 360.

See the JEE-Main was introduced in 2013 after getting the place of AIEEE which was an entrance exam for admission to B.Tech courses in different engineering colleges. And also after JEE-Main was introduced in 2013 there were some changes made in the format of paper like most recently in 2020 paper pattern of JEE-Main, total marks of JEE-Main was reduced to 300 from 360.
