Justify one metamophic rock which has similar composition with granite. for 1 mark
Hello Aspirant,
Geologically rocks are classified as igneous, sedementary and metamorphic rocks. Igneous rocks are formed by the solidification of molten lava or magma. Granite is a prominent example for igneous rocks. Sedementary rocks for over time by the weathering and settling of rock minerals in layers. Lime stone is a very good example for it. Metamorphic rocks are formed by the disintegration of igneous or sedementary rocks under the action of temperature or pressure. These rocks have the composition similar to that of their parent rock. Gneiss is formed from granite as a result of metamorphoses. Hope this helps and Good luck
Granite is a common type of intrusive, felsic, igneous rock with granular structure. A phaneritic-textured intrusive igneous rock similar to granite is Granodiorite.
