see b.tech is a four years degree course and you have to complete the full course to get the b.tech passed certificate. there is eight semester in 4 years and you have to individually clear the all semester exams with pass marks. also there is final year projects, grand viva to clear. what ever course you may take like b.sc or b.a or b.com, or diploma to get the completion certificate you have to complete the exams includes in the duration of the course to get the certificate. even if you study b.tech for 1 year and passed the first and second semester exam you would get the semester marksheet but it has no value unless you get the final course completion certificate. this thing is same for any of the course you may do or take in future. so decide first which of the area interest you the most and then join. unless the year of studying would count as gap of year.

No you will not get a degree certificate just after completing the first year of your B.Tech course. B. Tech is a four year course divided into 8 semester which includes your project, internship, etc. You need to complete the whole course to get the degree certificate and not just one year.
