- Actually KVPY stands for Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana .
- It is a national level scholarship examination which is conducted to promote and encourage highly talented students to opt for research .
- It is initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India.
- As per the eligibility criteria of KVPY , those who are in class 11th, 12th and 1st year of UG courses in basic science are eligible for SA, SX and SB streams, respectively
