No , no donations or admission fee is charged for admission in IITs , IITs offer admission through jee advance only and the registration fee for btech is very low , for instance, registration fee at iit bombay for btech is only Rs. 750 . And when it comes to fee then it's quite low when compared to fee in private engineering colleges. For example, fee per semester in IIT Bombay is only Rs. 115250 ( with hostel ) and Rs.105700 ( without hostel).
