Dear Aspirant
This is how you can become aerospace engineer.
As it is a science-related field, it is important that students have the right subjects in 10+2. The student should have cleared 10+2 with physics, chemistry, and mathematics from CBSE or equivalent board as core subjects with the minimum required percentage in order to qualify for various engineering entrance examinations.
After completion of a 10+2 in physics, chemistry, and maths with an aggregate of 50 percent marks or equivalent from a recognised board, the students are required to appear in engineering entrance exams in order to get into a college for pursuing a bachelors course in aerospace engineering. It is important that the student clears the entrance tests of the institution of his or her choice. As the admissions are provided on the basis of merit. There are several entrance examinations for various engineering institutions across India.
One can either pursue a B.E. (Bachelor of Engineering) aerospace engineering or B.Tech. (Bachelor of Technology) aerospace engineering. Both the courses are four-year courses. Aerospace engineering is a lab-specific programme and it involves a number of practical sessions. Unlike other engineering programmes, aerospace engineering does not come up with online education courses.
Once the student has completed his or her bachelor's degree there are two options that the student can choose.
Option 1: After completion of a bachelor of technology in aerospace engineering, the students can start working as an engineer in various private companies as well as government agencies.
Option 2: Many prefer the second option, which is going for higher studies. Students can pursue an M.Tech (Master of Technology) in aerospace engineering and after that, they can opt for a Ph.D. programme in the related specialization. A Ph.D. is considered crucial for research and scientific projects. It also brings another opportunity to establish an academic career and teach in universities and colleges.
All the best!
