To get selected in NDA you have to clear the stages of selection process

• Candidate has to clear the written examination which is conducted by UPSC. If the candidate clears this entrance exam then only he can go to next stage
• The next stage is SSB interview wherein two screening tests are conducted-  1 )Officer Intelligence Rating Test (OIRT) & Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PPDT). 2) Psychological Testing, Personal Interview, Ground Tasks Officer (GTO) Testing, Conference Round
• Medical examination
• Final selection is  based on the merit list summed up on the basis of SSB interview & the medical test.

To get an admission in the NDA, you have to appear for the Examination conducted by the UPSC.

The basic eligibility criteria requires an applicant to be:-

• Between 16-1/2 to 19-1/2 years of age
• Candidate must have passed their 10+2 from a recognised board (physics and maths compulsory for Navy and AF)
• The marital status of the candidate should be unmarried.

The selection process includes three steps including a written examination consisting of two papers, Mathematics and General Ability test.

The second stage includes an interview round with the AFSB or SSB as per their choice of service.

The third stage is a medical examination that ensures that a candidate doesn't have any abnormal medical conditions that can hamper their abilities on duty.

Hello aspirant , to get selected in NDA,

First of all you have to apply online for UPSC National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination, this is a online process. Form are available on the UPSC site in the month of January and may as this exam is conducted twice in a year. After that you have clear the written test, till now this test is completely offline based. Test are conducted in the month of April and September. This is a merit based exam. Once you have cleared it, you will receive a call letter for SSB interview from service ( army, navy & air force) you have applied for. Some times call letter don’t arrive so no need to panic you can always download that from your registered email id. SSB is a five day, 2 stage process:- you will be allowed for 2nd stage only if you clears 1st stage which is conducted on the 1st day of interview. once you clears the SSB you have to go through a medical examination which will be conducted at the same place where your SSB is conducted. After competition of all the stages UPSC publishes a final merit list of all selected candidates. This merit list is based on the total marks scored by a candidate in his written test and SSB interview
