May I know about Nest exam details
Hello Aspirant
NEST is a national level entrance for students seeking admission to 5-year Integrated MSc Program in Basic Sciences – Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. Candidates must have secured minimum 60 % for General category and minimum 55 % for SC, ST, and PD category.
NEST 2019 is to be conducted on 2nd June, 2019.
The syllabus for NEST includes of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths.
NEST is a computer-based test. It is a three-hour long test which is divided into 5 sections.
The books for NEST are -
Physics
Your core focus should be on NCERT. Other than thouroughly practicing NCERT, you can solve questions of Arihant and HC Verma. Some other books are -
1)RESNICK and HALLIDAY
2)problems in general physics - I.E Irodov
3)Kleppner and Kolenkow (for mechanics)
4)Intoduction to electrodynamics (relevant chapters only)
Chemistry
Again the core focus should be on NCERT. Some other books are –
1)Problems in Organic Chemistry(Himangshu Pandey)
2)Inorganic Chemistry(cengage - vol1 and vol2)
3) For physical chemistry, ncert 11/12 and Comprehensive Chemistry is enough.
Biology
NCERT books are a must and one can revise thrpugh MTGquestion banks. Other books are –
1) Biology by SC Verma
2) Botany by AC Dutta
3) Medical Entrance Biology by Nirmal Kumar Mishra and Arun Kumar Pandey
4) Objective Biology by S. Biswas and A. Biswas
Maths
Maths can be done through NCERT. Other books are –
1) Integral Calculus by Amit M Aggarwal
2) Skills in Mathematics Coordinate Geometry for IIT JEE by S K Goyal
3) Mathematics for IIT-JEE: Trigonometry, Vector Algebra, Probability by G. S. N. Murti and U. M. Swamy
4) Calculus and Analytic Geometry by George B. Thomas, Ross L. Finney
