Provisional merit list is the merit listwhich is produced just on the basis of the entrance examination you appeared rather than having the combined result of your boards marks and your entrance examination scores.

Provisional merit list in means the score you have scored in any examination. In simple, provisional merit list is will describe your score which you have scored in any particular examination. But the merit list will not confirms your admission nor it merges any futher examination scores.

Look, you will have merit lists released for the examination you gave. scores will be released on the ranking and you will be allowed to choose particular college for admission. Now, if the seats are occupied by merit rankers in a college, college/institute will again released a list of merit and the last round of merit list is known as provisional merit list. It just like counselings
