My academic session was 2025-26 and i was in class 12th. I couldn't give my all practical and theory exams because my surgery was done just before the practicals. i did'nt receive any marksheet as i have not given any exam but i have my admit card with me. So this year can i apply as a private candidate of CBSE Class 12?
Hello Dear Student,
Yes, you may be eligible to apply as a CBSE Class 12 private candidate , but it depends on how your previous examination record was treated by CBSE.
If your academic session was 2025–26 , you were issued an admit card , but could not appear for the practical and theory examinations due to surgery , then:
- If CBSE recorded you as Absent or your result was not declared , you can generally apply as a private candidate in the next examination, subject to the eligibility conditions specified by CBSE for private candidates.
- Since you did not receive a marksheet, your admit card and school records will be important while applying.
- You should also keep your medical documents/discharge summary safely, as they may be required if CBSE or your school seeks proof of your absence.
Before applying, contact your school to confirm your CBSE result status (Absent, Result Not Declared, etc.). This will help determine the exact category under which you should apply as a private candidate.
Hope it helps!
