My air is 9150 in ece and obc category .....should i drop or do mtech??

See your fethed rank in the GATE entrance exam in the ECE domain is descent  based upon this rank it might be harder for you to take the admission across the various Government Institutions like IIT / NIT and other Government Institutions. Since as of know the cuttoff has been declared so faar so my advice for you is to apply across to the other good M.Tech Colleges via which you can be able to take the admission or otherwise try to the private companies as well in which you wish to enter in and if you can't success in this then go with the final option drop a year & prepare for the GATE entrance exam.
