First of all congratulations for scoring very good percentile. Every year different number of cateogry students appear for the exam. So calculating cateogry rank is not an easy task. Currently we are unable to calculate cateogry rank. You will get your cateogry rank when result is declared by NTA.

In that case my category (general) rank must be better than 2,222 as some of the other categories will be in between rank 1to 2,221. Is it right

Official rank by NTA for paper 2 hasn't released yet.Rank will be released after 2nd phase of jee mains exam.Best percentile score from 2 phases will be considered for rank.Actually your probable rank i.e 2.2k is in general category.But this probable rank.For assurance wait till April.
