Hello Shubham,
If all your and your father's documents (including domicile) belong to Maharashtra, and only your father's
birthplace
is Karnataka, you can still apply for a
Maharashtra caste certificate
, provided the following conditions are met:
Steps to Get Caste Certificate in Maharashtra:
-
Prove Domicile : Submit your and your father's Maharashtra domicile certificates as proof of long-term residence.
-
Caste Proof :
-
Submit your father's old caste certificate (if available).
-
If not available, get a
caste verification letter
from your
village officer or tehsildar
(of Maharashtra origin) where your caste is traditionally recorded.
Supporting Documents :
-
School leaving certificate (yours or your father's) mentioning caste.
-
Ration card, Aadhar card, and other local address proofs.
-
Affidavit (if required) declaring your caste and residence.
Application Process :
-
Apply online via [MahaOnline] or visit the nearest Setu center / Tehsil office .
-
Submit documents and pay the nominal processing fee.
-
The verification process may include a home visit or inquiry.
Important Note:
Your father’s place of birth does not affect caste certificate issuance if the family is domiciled and settled in Maharashtra with proper proof.
Visit your local Tahsildar office for exact document requirements and process confirmation.
