Congratulations to your brother. 8k rank is really good in jee mains . He can opt for top branches in all nits except the starting 4 nits ie trichy , Warangal, surathkal and Allahabad.
But if he goes till last round I am sure he can get ECE at least in nit Allahabad or Evenmay be IT in mnnit , he can apply for IIIT Allahabad. Other options for him are applying for iiesr if interested in research. Also he can easily get NSIT and DTU .
So many options are available for him. Best of luck to him.
