My caste is BCE Shiek can I apply for OBC
Hello,
If your caste is BCE (Backward Class – E) , then you cannot apply under OBC (Other Backward Class).
BCE is a separate category , mainly used in some states like Telangana and Andhra Pradesh . It is not the same as OBC in the Central Government list.
So, you can apply as
BCE
for
state-level exams
.
But for
central-level exams
(like UPSC, SSC, NEET, JEE, etc.), you can apply under
OBC category only if your caste name is included in the Central OBC list
.
You should check if
“Sheik”
or
“Shaik”
community is listed in the
Central OBC list
for your state on the official
NCBC website (ncbc.nic.in)
.
If it is listed there, you can apply as
OBC
.
If not, you can apply only under
General category
for central exams.
Hope it helps !
Hi,
Yes, you can apply for an OBC certificate if your caste is BC-E, but you need to make sure that to apply for an OBC certificate, your community is listed in the Central List of Other Backward Classes and your family's income is below the threshold considered non-creamy layer, which is set by the government.
Hope it helps!!!
Hello,
Yes you can apply for OBC if your caste is BCE shaik, but make sure it is listed in the central government list and you fulfill the non creamy layer criteria. For applying under OBC your caste should not only be listed in state but also central government.
