my cat score is 80.5 percentile,qa-46,va -88,lrdi-86 i am from general category,my 10 and 12 results are above 75% and my graduation mark is 53% which college would i apply to???

I would like to congratulate you on securing a decent percentile. I hope you are talking about your CAT percentile here, which in that case, will fetch you calls from several good B-Schools which in turn will help you to get a job with a decent salary package. Though, there is a slight problem in your academic scores. It’s not upto the mark and when you get into a good B-School, most major companies will not shortlist your for Summer Placements and Final Placements since you have less than 60 percent marks in your graduation. You may lose out on some big payers in this case.

Anyways, I am listing down some of the B-Schools from which you might secure a call for their GD/WAT/PI process:

You also have the option of appearing for all the management entrance exams for the next year if you don’t have the obligation of getting into a B-School this year. Working in some company for a year and preparing for the entrances simultaneously would add value to your CV and SOP. But you have to decide which one would it be.

If you decide to go for this year and will not prepare for another year, you will need to start the next phase of your preparation that is getting ready for Group Discussions, Written Ability Tests and Personal Interviews. You need to remain updated with what is happening in India and also around the world. For WAT, you have to be grammatically correct and you must have content to write on, as some of the topics will be specific and will require data.

Getting a call from these B-Schools would not ensure your admission into them as several factors are taken into consideration before taking a student into a B-School, such as:

• Academic and ExtraCurricular achievements
• Relevant work experience
• Performance in GD/WAT/PI process
