My cmr is 559 and my category rank is 491(gen) in mfm nift 2019. Can I get a seat with this rank?

Hello Shailaja, on the basis of 2018 cutoff, you can't get MFM course in any of the NIFTs according to your rank. The last admitted rank in MFM course was at NIFT Shillong with a CMR of 487 and then NIFT Raebareli, you might try for them and you might get a seat if you are lucky, but I would suggest you apply for other courses.

Well I got seat in mfm . I got Shillong in second counselling but I think I should not have asked this question on this platform as your answer horrified me for 2 months! I lost all my hopes! Bieng optimistic is very important...

That's the problem with the cutoff. The cutoff don't remain same for each year. So, I told you the chances based on last year cutoff. I also stated that you might get a seat if you were lucky which you were.
I also told to keep another course as backup if you didn't get MFM. You can't just stay optimistic about career related options. Just think about the situation if you had failed to get MFM and you had no other course. You would have screwed in that case without 2nd option.
