My daughter completed her 10th standard (CBSE) from Mumbai and presently she is 12th standard in Mumbai itself. She is staying in Mumbai since June'23 when I shifted from another state on an official transfer. How to get my daughter's domicile certificate as she is a NET aspirant.
Hello,
To get your daughter’s domicile certificate in Maharashtra , you can follow these steps:
-
Eligibility:
Since your daughter has been staying in Mumbai since June 2023, she can apply for a domicile certificate if she has lived in Maharashtra for at least 10 years or if either parent has a permanent residence in Maharashtra. -
Documents required:
-
Proof of residence in Maharashtra (rental agreement, electricity bill, etc.)
-
School leaving certificate or bonafide certificate showing she is studying in Mumbai
-
Birth certificate or 10th marksheet (for age proof)
Aadhaar card of your daughter and parents
Proof of parents’ residence in Maharashtra
Passport-size photographs
Self-declaration or affidavit of continuous residence
How to apply:
-
Go to the official website (https://aaplesarkar.mahaonline.gov.in) .
-
Register and create a user ID.
-
Log in and search for “Domicile Certificate.”
-
Fill out the application form, upload the required documents, and submit it online.
-
You can also apply offline through the Tahsildar office or Setu Kendra in your area.
Processing time:
Usually, it takes about 15–30 days for the certificate to be issued.
Since she has not yet completed 10 years in Maharashtra, you can apply for the domicile certificate based on your official transfer and residence proof, mentioning that the family is settled in Mumbai permanently.
If the local authorities need more details, they may ask for your transfer order and a declaration that Mumbai is now your permanent place of residence.
Hope it helps !
A candidate who has done his/her 10th and 12th from a recognized institute is directly eligible for the state counselling of maharashtra in NEET examination. your ward does not need any other domicile certificate as she is covered under the other eligibility criteria
