The age limit for various roles in CDS are:

1) IMA: 19 to 24 years of age, 8 to 9 attempts.

2) INA: 19 to 24 years of age, 8 to 9 attempts.

3) OTA: 19 TO 25 years of age, 10 to 11 attempts.

This is all considering your DOB as of 26 Oct, 2005 as you are 19 years old in Aug 2025.

There are no fixed cap limits on CDS on number of exam attempts - only age limit matters. As per your date of birth that is 26 October 2005, if we assume that your graduation is going to end in between 2028-2029:

You will be eligible for

1. CDS IMA/AFA till oct 2029 - you have 6-8 potential attempts

2. CDS IMA till oct 2027 - 4-5 potential attempts

3. CDS OTA till oct 2030 -8-10 attempts

The above is calculated from the age eligibility criteria for respective CDS exams which is

~IMA ( indian millitary academy) - 19-24 years

~INA (indian naval academy) - 19-22 years

~AFA ( air force academy ) -20-24 years

~OTA ( officer training academy) - 19-25 years

CDS does not have any fixed attempt limit. You can apply till you are within the age limit. Based on your date of birth 26/10/2005:

• For INA you will be eligible till CDS 2027 (around 5 attempts).

• For IMA you will be eligible till CDS 2029 (around 9 attempts).

• For OTA you will be eligible till CDS 2030 (around 11 attempts).

Final eligibility will depend on the exact age cut-off given in each year’s notification.
