My friend says he can crack neet with only 200 score as he is from st category and from westbengal is it true?

Asmita, there are 2 things to it. A Candidate belonging to ST Category qualifies in NEET if he/she scores 40 percentile of the top NEET score. For example, in 2019, the top score was 701 and the cut off for OBC,SC,ST was 107-133. So any score between 107-133 qualifies a OBC,SC,ST Candidate in NEET. This is as well cracking NEET. But the truth is that with a score of 107-133, you cannot get any seat except under Management Quota in Private Medical Colleges. Which means what your friend has told is true. Now cut offs change every year and are dependant on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no,of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. Well there is no fast and hard rule to talk about the cut off but you cannot determine cut off like that. And we don't know how the paper would be the next time. Usually a rise in cut off is seen in coming years. And qualifying neet is very easy but getting a government medical college are two very different things cause the cut off for qualifying neet is very low but the same is not true for government medical colleges.
