Hey!
Getting into HBTU with that rank is a bit unsure. I think you should suggest him to opt for private or state colleges . NITs should also not be in the list as a good private college is better than a not so good branch in a lower ranked NIT.

Hi aspirant,
It would be difficult for him to get any branch in HBTU Kanpur. He won't get any decent NIT with that rank. I would suggest him to apply for private colleges that accept JEE Main's rank. Below is the link for the list of private colleges that accept JEE Main's rank.
