My friend wants admission in HBTU. His rank in jee mains is around 65k. Is it possible??

Getting into HBTU with that rank is a bit unsure. I think you should suggest him to opt for private or state colleges . NITs should also not be in the list as a good private college is better than a not so good branch in a lower ranked NIT.

If he is from general category, then at this rank he won't get admission in any branch at HBTU Kanpur. He won't get any decent NIT too with that rank. I would suggest you to look for private colleges that accept JEE Main's rank. Below is the link for the list of such colleges:
