Which state have you completed your class 12 from? That will be your home state for the NITs. For the NIT there, you muct check the cutoffs of last year. Otherwise chances in NITs, IIITs etc are not that high for Computer Sciences.
Other than that, most states which take through JEE Main give preference to their students for seats in Govt colleges. Other state students are given admissions in private colleges.
