I am a Psychologist and can understand the importance of mental health and its consequences on the family. There is something called Theory of Constraints. It is a principle that you can put to use to dream big and achieve big without limitations. It is one of the most important breakthroughs in modern thinking. In every walk of life while trying to achieve a goal, there will be what you call a chock cord or a bottle neck that is constraint to your dreams. But this is what sets the speed at which you can achieve your goal. The principle says that if you concentrate all your energy and attention in removing the obstacle, you can actually speed up and reach closer to achieving your goal. You need to be clear about your goal and vision. Set clear priorities and progress slowly to things that are important to you. Research says that those people are who are goal oriented have more success in life. So your goal should be you securing a seat in MBBS. Make that your clear priority. Set daily syllabus goals. Write them down for each subject. Clear the place where you want to study. Make sure you have books, pen, pencils, water, everything you need. Also make sure that you do not have anything that is unnecessary at your desk or at the place that you want to study.Once you start reading, make sure you do not have to step out for anything else. Then set an alarm for every 25 minutes. During this 25 minutes study, make sure you are studying uninterrupted. Then once the alarm rings, take a 5 minute break and then get back to setting an alarm for 25 minutes and then study again for 25 minutes and take a break for 5 minutes. Repeat like that atleast 4 times before you take your long break for breakfast or lunch or dinner. This will keep the brain active, prevents burnout and keeps you focussed for longer hours because you wont be exhausted or stressed. But make sure you follow the 25-5-25-5-25-5-25-5-25-5 pattern. This will help you prepare effectively for NEET.
Stick to NCERT because 98% of the questions come from NCERT. And also practise as many mock tests as you can. If you want to appear for NEET 2021, you can prepare with the help of our NEET Knockout package: https://learn.careers360.com/knockout-neet-may/
Hi
I know it would have been a little difficult for you to focus on your studies due to your mother's depression but you will have to study, you yourself said that your mother wants you to become a doctor so you should give your best efforts towards your NEET preparation and don't worry hopefully your mother will be fine soon.
You can follow the below strategy to focus on your Neet preparation and don't worry 5 months are sufficient for your need preparation if you prepare for it with hard work and dedication:-
*First of all Make routine or timetable :- Give at least around 8 hours or more to study , your routine should revolve around things i.e study, revise and practice, do take short breaks in between your studies
*Give priority to ncert:-To prepare for neet exam first of all go through ncert as at least 90-95% questions in neet are based on the concepts from ncert , go through solved examples and unsolved questions in the ncert , in biology study all the diagrams also , as diagram based questions are also there , so you need to master NCERT .
*After finishing each chapter you should practice questions, you should practise at least 80 to 100 numericals / mcqs in Each chapter
*You can make short notes for quick revision of important concepts and formulas , keep revising your concepts at regular intervals, like once in a week or 15 days .
*Solve previous year NEET questions :-it will let you know the examination pattern, type and difficulty level of questions etc
* Once done with complete syllabus, go through NEET mock test papers , it will let you know your preparation level and and weak areas so that you can work on them and perform well in your examination
You can prepare well using our neet program for which link is provided below
