If your main goal after graduation is to get a government job, then choose your degree based on the exams and careers you want to target.

For most major government exams such as UPSC, SSC CGL, Banking, Railways and State PSC, a B.A., B.Com or B.Sc. can all make you eligible for many posts.

If you're currently in Class 11, I would suggest:

Class 11–12 → choose a stream you can score well in → Graduation → prepare alongside college for SSC/Banking/PSC/UPSC → apply for relevant exams.

If you specifically want a government job with high stability and good salary, you can consider:

• SSC CGL
• Bank PO/Clerk
• Railway NTPC
• State PSC
• UPSC Civil Services

Don't choose a degree only because someone says it has “more government-job scope.” For most graduate-level government exams, your degree stream is less important than your exam preparation and eligibility.
