My parents want me to go through formal education and get into a good company whereas I want to study and create something of my own. What advise would you like to give and my parents?
First piece of advice for you would be that if your parents are telling you to do something else that doesn't mean that you should not respect them. They are doing this just because they want you to succeed and in their understanding of the world they probably think that this is the most assured route to success.
The truth is there is no single road to success and there is no guarantee that if you do that particular course and get a job, you will be successful. So, you should be able to pursue what you want to do. You should work hard. Make sure that you do two or three things.
1) Don't take a path because it looks easier.
2) Do what you are passionate about
3) Make sure that you work hard and also be mindful that whatever you are choosing to do has a potential end game which will pay your bills.
Many of us tend to have this idealistic view that I will do what I want to do and I will enjoy my life. There is a price to pay initially. You got to be able to pay your bills.

Both you and your parents are correct in your own right. Your parents have seen the world and so they know what's the best for you. You on the other hand know your passion. We all have been there at a point in our lives. I had a friend who wanted to study Law but her father wanted her to study Biology in her 12th and become a Doctor. She did take up Science in her 12th and fulfiled her dad's wish partially. But soon after, she completed LLB to fulfil her wish. Once in her 12th both her father and she realised that Science wasn't her calling. She discussed it at length with her father. Formal education is important and there can be no second thoughts about it. But you need to have a discussion with your parents and define "Formal Education". May be this lockdown is an apt time for that. Suggest your parents to come with a plan for you in writing. Like what they want you to study, its scope and their plans for your future for the next 5 years. On the other hand, you too write down a plan for yourself. What you want to study, its scope and your plans for future atleast for the next 5 years. May be you both can meet at a common ground. And to create something of your own like to be have a start up or be an Entrepreneur, you need to have formal education and learn the intrinsics of the business from someone who has been there and done that before. So you may have to work for sometime under someone and then move on to have something of your own. If you want to get into a business of lets say organic products, there are thousands of companies. But to sustain in the market, you should bring something different to the table. This is why you need to observe and learn how the other comapnies work. So try this and it might work in your favour.
