Qualifying exam criteria to give JEE Main 2019-
-
Candidates must have passed class XII or qualifying exam in 2017 or 2018.

Candidates appearing in class XII or equivalent qualifying exam in 2019 can also apply for JEE Main.
But at the time of admissions to NITs/IIITs/GFTIs-
- Candidates need to have secured minimum 75% marks in class XII or equivalent exam or be in the top 20 percentile in their class XII exam conducted by the respective board.
- For SC/ ST candidates, the eligibility criteria is to secure 65% marks in class XII or equivalent exam.
The candidates will have to satisfy at least one of the following two criteria for admission to IITs:

Should have scored at least 75% aggregate marks in 10+2th standard (or equivalent) board examination. For SC/ ST and PwD candidates, the aggregate marks should be at least 65%.

The candidates should be within the category wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective 12th standard (or equivalent) board examination
