If you are branch specific, you should go with whatever you are getting already. But if you prefer an NIT over branch and private college, you could try through the JoSAA rounds for NITs or IIITs, but CSE is very difficult, again. You still try, by making a preference list according to the course and the college that you want, and you will be allotted the course and the college of your topmost choice. All the best!
